Adaptive dynamics of density-dependent, demographically-structured populations
What are the expected long term trajectories of life history traits in populations undergoing different forms of density dependence?
I am working in collaboration with Drs. Chris Johnson (ETH-Zurich) and Régis Ferrière (The University of Arizona, École Normale Supérieure) to model the adaptive dynamics of life-history rates for two-stage populations experiencing different forms of density-dependence. This theory will provide a general and accessible framework for understanding long-term phenotypic evolution of vital rates in different ecological contexts. More information is forthcoming.
